Privacy Policy

GeoTag Photos is designed so original images stay in your browser while account, usage, payment, and address-search features run through trusted service providers.

Summary

GeoTag Photos is a browser-based image metadata tool. The core image processing pipeline runs locally in your browser. Original images do not need to be uploaded to our servers to read metadata, write GPS coordinates, resize, watermark, export ZIP files, or generate reports.

What stays local

  • Original images selected in the upload area.
  • Local previews generated from those files.
  • Metadata reading and GPS writing performed by the browser worker.
  • Resize, watermark, direct download, ZIP export, and report generation.

Data we do not collect for image processing

  • We do not store original photos on our servers for geotagging.
  • We do not create a cloud image library from files you process.
  • We do not train AI models on uploaded photos.
  • We do not publish galleries or share processed files publicly.

Account and subscription data

If you sign in, the service may store your Clerk user identifier, email address, plan, account timestamps, and subscription status. If you pay for Pro, payment events from Creem may be stored so Pro access can be granted, renewed, canceled, refunded, or revoked correctly.

Usage data

GeoTag Photos records usage events needed to operate Free and Pro limits. These events may include event type, quantity, period key, timestamps, and account identifiers. Examples include image exports, address searches, report exports, and saved-location activity.

Location presets and address search

If you save a location preset, we store the preset name, optional address, latitude, and longitude so you can reuse it. If you use address search, the query is sent through our server to Mapbox so coordinates can be returned and usage limits can be enforced.

Service providers

The product uses Vercel for hosting, Clerk for authentication, Supabase for application data, Mapbox for maps and geocoding, Creem for payment, and Google Analytics 4 for product analytics. These providers may process technical data needed to deliver their services.

Payments

Payments are processed by Creem. We do not store full card numbers. Payment-related records may include provider customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, status, plan, current period information, refund status, and webhook event identifiers.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, acquisition channels, product funnels, and performance. Analytics events should not include original image files. You can use browser settings, privacy extensions, or platform controls to limit analytics where available.

Support emails and sample files

If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send. Do not send sensitive original images unless support asks for a minimal sample file to reproduce a compatibility issue.

Retention

Account, subscription, payment, and usage records are kept as long as needed to operate the service, enforce limits, support billing, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Location presets can be deleted through the product where deletion is available or by contacting support.

Your choices

  • You can process images without uploading originals to our servers.
  • You can avoid saved presets if you do not want reusable locations stored.
  • You can contact support for account, billing, or data questions.
  • You can use browser controls to limit cookies and analytics collection.

Security

We use managed providers for hosting, authentication, database, payment, analytics, maps, and geocoding. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so avoid processing or emailing files you are not allowed to use, disclose, or modify.

Children

GeoTag Photos is intended for business and professional workflows. It is not intended for children.
